The Young Investigator Awards are given to authors on the basis of innovation, originality and high impact on nephrology advances. The awards will hopefully encourage a high standard of research and scientific presentations among young doctors and nephrologist.
The Prizes
A certificate and cash will be given to the winner. 3 prizes will be given to the best 3 abstracts.

Regulations
| 1 |
The competition is open to all young doctors who are below 40 years old as on 1 January 2010. |
| 2 |
The work submitted maybe from any related areas of nephrology. |
| 3 |
The bulk of the work which are submitted must be performed by the author himself/herself. |
| 4 |
The author himself/herself should present the paper (if the paper is been selected for the finals) at the 26th Annual Seminar of Malaysian Society of Nephrology that will be held in April 2010 in Kuching, Sarawak. |

Each abstract must be submitted either in the abstract form via e-mail to moss@po.jaring.my or Fax to: 03-26916514 (Ms Rashidah Hamzah) by 15th March 2010

Marks will be given according to the following scheme: |

- Idea/Innovative
- Design and Methods. Is it case series, descriptive, retrospective, case-control , prospective, or randomized control trial?
- Is the design of the study answering the hypothesis/objectives/research question
- Are the results presented appropriately? Does the result answer the research question?
- Is the conclusion: appropriately drawn and relevant?
- Language and presentation

The scientific committee shall assess the papers submitted and to be presented at 26th Annual Seminar of Malaysian Society of Nephrology. |
| 3 |
The shortlisted papers will be presented by the authors at the Free Paper Presentation on the 26th Malaysian Society of Nephrology Conference in Kuching, Sarawak. |
| 4 |
A panel of judges shall decide on the winner and the judges’ decision is final. |
| 5 |
The award shall be presented during the closing ceremony. |
